Sabah Bah

• Finally on the 11th until 14th August 2008, our IPKB-IPGAYA Colloquium 2008 has come to reality. The main aim is to build a closer relationship between the Marjon 1 students from IPKB and IPGAYA was definitely achieved through this project. Arriving at 1 o’clock in the morning, we were nicely welcomed by the students and some lectures at IPGAYA.
• Besides the formal teaching & learning in class, we also used the opportunity to play Ping Pong together as it is in the Co-Curricular Activities (CCCA) syllabus and also watched their ‘The Merchant of Venice’ play rehearsal.The experience going to class and study with them for almost a week actually help us to enhance not only our relationship but also our study and learning skills as we mingle and share lots of new things together.

• Moreover, our program there became more meaningful with the presence of our Deputy Director and also an officer from the HEP department of the TED to support our programme and also shared experience and gave motivation talks to us.
• On the 14th which was our last day with our counterpart, we had our closing ceremony after finishing our Language Description quiz. Later we took photographs together and started to move to Sabah International Airport. We arrived at Low Cost Carrier Terminal(LCCT) at 8.00pm. Even though we didn't climb Mount Kinabalu, all of us were delighted with this trip and went home happily to celebrate our mid semester holiday.

Welcome to the Marjon Family

• Marjon emperor has become bigger starting this new semester with the registration of the Marjon Cohort 2 students.
• In sense of reducing the senior and junior’s gap and also enhance the relationship of this two cohort, Marjon 1 students initiated a welcoming party to welcome our brothers and sisters.
  
• Special thanks to the committee members in charge of this party for making this ceremony a memorable one.
• We hope through this welcoming party, Marjon family will become even closer and stronger.
  
• Hopefully, it will become a tradition of Marjon family and continued by the rest of the cohorts.

We were helping IPKB's student council to do the aerobic session on the orientation week for the new intake 2008.

Bussiness Time!!!

Right after the paper work of Sabah Colloquium had been approved, we move to our next activity which was collecting money. We were collecting money for our expenses in Sabah and buying flight tickets. Actually, this was the toughest part among all yet it was the most exciting part to be remembered. We were doing business in IPKB to raise fund such as selling breads, open a stall during the registration day of new intake July 2008 and also selling ‘Nasi Lemak’ for breakfast during weekend.We went to every room thrice a week to sell various types of breads such as ‘Spider web’, ‘Mexican bun’, ‘Cheese bun’, and also ‘Pizza’.Even though it was really tiring to go to every room but we enjoyed every time we see all the breads were finished.



On the registration day of new intake (14th July 2008), we sold food that we cooked such as ‘pisang goreng’, nugget, chicken balls, keropok lekor, fries and also bread at the stall. Some of us also sold drinks and we were really proud because we opened the stall at about 8 a.m and around 12 p.m all of the food and drinks had been sold out!! Woohaa...

Goodbye Second Semester

Before we even realizing it, second semester was about to end. Time flew so fast. So, as the closure of the second semester in our two year foundation in IPKB, we had a small party. We had invited a few lecturers to come. After being nearly a year together, we have become good friends and known each other much more better.


oh, ya. We also held a get together with two of the IPKB-UiTM Cohort 2 students. They shared their wonderful experience climbing the highest mount in Malaysia, Mount Kinabalu when they were in their foundation year. The both of them told us on how they raised money for achieving their aim. They really had inspired us to do the same. So, we quickly form a committee and prepared the working paper. Sabah! Here we come!

School Visit 2008

On 20 May 2008, we organized a school visit at SK Padang Garong 1, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This school visit was actually one of the components required under English Language Games which was held in IPTI last April. With the motto “Having Fun With English”, we have came out with 6 interesting and fun games which were the Boom Balloon, Confusing Colours, On Bluetooth, Sing a long session and others. Our main objective which was to have fun with English had been successfully achieved as the Year 6 pupils had given their full commitment through the activities and games.

Moving Ahead With English

On 20 April-24 April 2008, we took part in “English Language Camp 2008” which was held at Institut Perguruan Temenggong Ibrahim, Johor Bharu. This annual camp included 10 other teacher's training colleges from all around Malaysia especially for the colleges that have B.Ed TESL Programme. There were many exciting activities and games regarding the language and thinking skills held by each college involved. Among the activities are choral speaking competition, sing-a-long session, aerobic session and also games in groups.





We also sent Muhammad Fadhli bin Mufti, Nur Aiman b. Zainudin and also Isna Suhairin bt. Mokhtardin as our representatives in the story-telling competition. The three of them really had done a marvellous job. Everybody enjoyed their stories. On the last day of the camp, 3 colleges which are Institut Perguruan Darul Aman, Institut Perguruan Gaya and Institut Perguruan Kota Bharu students had an opportunity to perform cultural performances during the closing ceremony. IPDA students performed Zapin Dance while IP Gaya performed Sumazau Dance. However, we proudly performed our Dikir Barat fully in English and got a round of applause from the audience.
