MARJON 1's Tumpat Edu- Visit Tumpat 2007

On 2nd and 3rd of November 2007, B. Ed TESL IPKB-MARJON 1 had their very first outdoor activity which was Tumpat Edu-Visit 2007.

briefing at LKIM office
a visit to Tumpat

This is our first educational trip to Tumpat for a further research on the topic 'Culture'. We were to learn more on the different culture of the multi-racial country Malaysia. We have many distinct races and to understand them more is to do some field work.

We visited the fishermen village in Tumpat and have done some research on their lifestyles and their basic income and cost of living. Although we do speak the same National Language, we found it hard to understand the local dialect. But, overall we had a great slot of interviewing the villagers and had some video and voice recording for our further researches. We also got the chance to visit the salted fish processing village and to learn more about those local favourite 'budu'.

Other than that, we did a school visit and organised an English programme to the locals there. The "English is Fun" activity managed to pull the students' attention on the importance of English and to encourade them in speaking more.

Overall, this is our first trip and is not the last. Many better trips will we organised and we will be looking forward for that....

Thank You.....

i never saw Tumpat as a place worth visiting...except maybe for to see buddhist temples! You made Tumpat sound like a must-visit place.
Btw, i think you spelt 'budu' as 'pudu'.
Bye!
